PURPOSE
A Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations at customer locations. Implements and monitors data rules, serving as the SME for their area while supporting the Data Owner operationally. Guides team members to achieve objectives through leadership, clear communication, and resource management. Manages site operations, ensuring offices are functional, overseeing on-site workers, and coordinating lease agreements. Ensures necessary parts, tools, and equipment are available for field engineers while managing software and hardware licensing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Service Engineering
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair equipment/systems at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Provide customer training, on-site support, and accurate service records.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Build strong customer relationships and stay updated on product/industry knowledge.
Site Facility Management
- Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and compliance with safety, building, and environmental standards.
- Manage budgets, space utilization, and inventory of assets/equipment.
- Plan renovations, emergency response, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure facility security and minimal disruption to operations.
Inventory Management
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment; predict future needs.
- Ensure timely procurement, stock accuracy, and prevent shortages.
- Track inventory via systems and provide regular reports.
Team Lead (Optional)
- Foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and ensure transparent communication.
- Coach and guide team members to drive productivity and engagement.
Qualifications
Experience
- 3-4 years of experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of technical equipment or systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Proven experience in inventory management, procurement, and supply chain operations, including working with inventory management systems preferrred
- Hands-on experience in data governance, quality monitoring, and analytics, with knowledge of compliance standards in data management.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, fostering collaboration, resolving conflicts, and coaching team members.
- Experience managing customer relationships, providing technical training, and delivering exceptional service.
- Experience producing detailed reports on inventory, data metrics, and operational updates for senior management.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- For specialized roles (e.g., Data Governance or Inventory Specialist), degrees in Data Management, Supply Chain, or Information Technology may be preferred.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Master's in Operations or Engineering) are advantageous for senior positions like Site Facility Manager or Inventory Specialist
Certifications
- Relevant certifications in data governance or analytics (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Tableau, or Power BI certifications).
- Certification in Facility Management (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM)) for Site Facility Manager roles.
- Inventory or supply chain certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)).
- Safety and compliance certifications, such as OSHA Certification or Environmental Compliance.
- Certifications in technical support or field services (e.g., CompTIA certifications, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
