The Organisation

Lotus People are proud to be partnering with a highly respected hospital that delivers world-class care and is recognised for innovation, quality, and patient-centred services. The organisation is deeply committed to excellence in healthcare, supporting patients, families, and staff through integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Health Information Services Manager to step into a key leadership position. This role will oversee a team of eight within the Health Records Service, taking responsibility for clinical coding oversight, medico-legal reporting, data quality, and change management initiatives.

Reporting to senior hospital leadership, you will bring a strong balance of technical skills and people management, leading with both expertise and empathy. With some involvement in software implementation and project management, this is a hands-on leadership role that requires confidence, strategic planning, and the ability to navigate change in a sophisticated hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide oversight of clinical coding, reporting, and medico-legal matters
- Drive data quality initiatives and ensure compliance with privacy standards
- Manage change projects, including system and process improvements
- Mentor and lead a team of eight Health Records staff
- Evaluate and implement new technology to support service delivery
- Support training, risk management, and strategic planning across the service

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have a strong background in hospital administration, patient services, or health information management, with experience leading teams. While you no longer need to code, prior coding knowledge and experience will be highly regarded.

You will also bring:

- 5–10 years of relevant leadership experience in hospital or healthcare administration
- Strong knowledge of clinical coding practices and health information management
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and change initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead an established team
- Previous experience managing teams
- Systems knowledge including SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
- A nursing management or Patient Services Manager background within a large hospital would also be highly relevant.

Our Recruitment Process

At Lotus People, we are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply and will ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process.

Every application we receive is reviewed by a real person, never by AI. If your experience aligns with the requirements of the role, a consultant will be in touch within 2–3 business days for an initial phone screen. Shortlisted candidates will then progress to a virtual interview with the consultant managing the role.

Due to the volume of applications and the specific nature of our briefs, we are unable to take telephone enquiries prior to receiving an application. We kindly ask that all interested candidates apply online and await further contact. Rest assured, we respond to every applicant, regardless of the outcome.

Lotus People are proud to have been awarded Best Agency for Candidate Experience for six consecutive years. We look forward to providing you with a positive and respectful experience.
