Join our Employee Relations team within our People & Culture division, responsible for providing employee relations advice, guidance and consulting services to Macquarie’s central services and business groups, across a full suite of employee relations matters.

This role will be offered on an 8-month contract basis.

What role will you play?

As a trusted advisor, and subject matter expert, you will advise management on matters relating to HR practices and employment risks, practical people management and employment related issues such as recruitment, performance management, dismissals, restructuring and projects related to M&A activities.

You will provide high quality, strategic and commercially focused employee relations and employment law advice. You will manage resources and reports and will also provide a role in continually contributing to the improvement of work systems and processes within the team and across the broader People & Culture function and Macquarie, where relevant.

In addition, it will be in your remit to interpret and implement HR policies, undertake an investigatory role relating to internal grievances and disciplinary issues and partner with our Work Health & Safety team on employee health-related issues.

What you offer

- Tertiary qualifications in Employment Law, Employee Relations or Human Resources, coupled with an acute sense of the importance of confidentiality, sensitivity and diplomacy.
- Practical knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and experience in financial services is desirable.
- Autonomy to execute day-to-day delivery of employee relations matters and serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, including complex and sensitive matters with senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience in an advisory capacity to clients and stakeholders, with a natural ability to nurture and develop relationships.
- Ability to supervise and manage the work of the team’s ER Advisers and review and make recommendations regarding the work and strategic approach.
