Whyalla, Australia Health Partners Limited Full time

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work somewhere that actually makes a difference in SA? We’re looking for an experienced and people focused Test Lead to join our local team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About Health Partners

We’re more than just your health partner. As a proud South Aussie not-for-profit, we’ve had our member’s backs (and eyes, and teeth) for over 85 years. This means we know health and wellbeing looks different for everyone, and it’s why we’re on a mission to create a better state of health for our over 95,000 members and the local community we call home.

As a member-owned fund, we’re guided by doing what’s right for our members, our people and the broader community. To be a Health Partners member means you’re part of something pretty special â we’re your truly local, value giving, member satisfying partner.

About the role

As a Test Lead, you’ll lead the uplift of our organisational approach to testing, while coaching and mentoring our people to uplift their capability. This strategic yet hands-on role, sets the path to excellence through development of an enterprise-wide framework and governance model, pragmatic tooling, automation roadmaps, and delivery support, ensuring testing is professional, traceable, and aligned with transformation goals.

Key responsibilities

- Create and roll out a fit-for-purpose enterprise test framework - think policies, standards, templates, and guides - that covers everything from functional to UAT, all backed by quality gates and crystal-clear traceability from idea to evidence.
- Lead and support testing across system, integration, and UAT phases - keeping things smooth, spotting issues early, and steering them to resolution. You’ll help teams get confidently go-live ready, with all the right checks in place.
- Introduce and standardise modern testing tools and methods spanning across automation, API/UI, and performance testing, to replace inconsistent manual practices with streamlined, scalable solutions.
- Help both delivery teams and analysts to develop their skillsets by coaching them in risk-based thinking and smart test design techniques - boosting capability, consistency, and confidence across the board.
- Lead the charge on a smart automation strategy and roadmap that gradually replaces manual regression with faster, more reliable testing. You’ll bring together coverage models, CI/CD integration, and well-tuned environments and data to build confidence in every release and keep things moving smoothly.

About you

You’re a collaborative, people centered, yet attentive person dedicated to improving team processes. With practical automation strategy tooling experience, you’ll be prepared to take our processes to the next level. You’ll also have:

- Senior-level testing expertise across system, integration, and UAT - with a knack for defect management and keeping stakeholders in the loop.
- You’ve successfully built test frameworks and governance from the ground up, especially in environments that needed a maturity boost.
- 3 - 5 years in a leadership or strategic role under your belt, you know how to set direction and rally teams around great testing practices.
- You hold a relevant degree in business, tech, or a related field, or have post-grad qualifications like Computer Science, IT, CTFL, or equivalent hands-on experience that speaks for itself.
