Join Miwatj Health and be part of a team dedicated to strengthening community wellbeing across East Arnhem Land. This role focuses on our Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program, where you’ll support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of innovative initiatives that reduce smoking and promote healthier lifestyles.
You will work alongside passionate colleagues, community leaders, and families to create sustainable change, support cultural strengths, and contribute to better health outcomes for future generations.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 30 June 2027, commencing in mid-December 2025. The position requires a willingness to travel to remote communities, including flying in small planes.

- Competitive annual salary based on classification and experience:
- AO5 - $101,226 - $106,497 per annum + 12% Superannuation
- Ability to Salary Package up to $15,900 + additional $2,650 on Meals and Entertainment
About Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to providing quality services across East Arnhem Land and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary and public health for over 6,000 residents of this remote landscape. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, and a Corporate Office in Darwin, our delivery is focused on 7 health centres across East Arnhem Land and dedicated outreach teams who travel to additional locations.
What we’re looking for in you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings. Candidates should have an understanding of health promotion principles and social determinants of health in an Aboriginal public health setting.
