Our Hornsby Day Program is seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Support Worker to join our team in North-West Sydney.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the community by assisting the Coordinator with daily operations and empowering customers to achieve their life goals, build independence, and embrace new opportunities.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Support Worker in Northcott’s Hornsby Day Program, I will contribute positively to the community by assisting the Coordinator with daily operations and empowering customers to achieve their life goals, build independence, and actively participate in their community.

I will:

- Demonstrate my two years’ experience supporting people with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and outcomes.
- Work across various on-site programs, including Adult Recreational, Life Skills, Work and Study, and Skills for Life.
- Support customers in their day-to-day activities, helping them build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.
- Facilitate engaging group activities such as art, drama, music, cooking, gardening, or travel training.
- Assist with the Work and Study Skills program, supporting customers to explore employment or education pathways.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, families, and external stakeholders.
- Implement and review Individual Program Plans, ensuring customer goals are person-centred and outcome-focused.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving and decision‑making skills by identifying challenges and developing practical solutions.
- Apply a strong understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Work both autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
