Our 200 employees assist more than 300 people across Newcastle, Maitland and Lake Macquarie, offering support with transport, recreational activities, community outings and appointments, personal care, domestic assistance and supported living accommodation.

ROLE OVERVIEWUnder the direction of the Support Manager you will be required to:
- Commit to regular and consistent shift schedules
- Support individuals with intellectual, mental health, or physical disabilities.
- Demonstrate confidence in managing behaviours associated with physical disabilities and mental health conditions
- Assist with meal planning, shopping, meal preparation, budgeting, and money handling skill development. In addition, provide support and assistance with domestic tasks
- Be creative and resourceful in assisting clients to work towards the goals set in their individual support plan
- Follow ongoing risk assessment procedures and management plans provided by the Care Coordinator
- Keep accurate and up-to-date client records using the Resolute Support App management system
- Deliver safe and confident support in complex care needs, including PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, and the use of hoists (training provided where required)
- Willingness to learn and drive the company van when required
You will have a kind and caring nature, and have demonstrated experience in providing care and support to vulnerable people. You have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build positive relationships with our participants, their family members, and carers (where applicable).
You will have:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care and/or Individual Support
- NDIS Worker check (or willing to obtain)
- WWCC (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid(can be obtained after application)
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Own Reliable Car and Comprehensively insured
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing support to people with complex care needs (experience as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), Enrolled Nurse (EN), or Registered Nurse (RN) is desirable but not essential)
