We’re expanding our Multicultural Minds program and have exciting opportunities for Peer Support Workers and Case Managers to join our team, supporting people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Job Description
About the Program
Multicultural Minds works alongside people from CALD backgrounds across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service region who are living with severe mental illness and/or problematic substance use.
Our support is:

Grounded in cultural safety and strengths-based practice
Informed by lived experience and professional expertise
Focused on recovery, connection, and long-term wellbeing
About the Role
As part of our passionate and supportive team, you will:
Walk alongside people on their recovery journey
Facilitate one-to-one and group education/support sessions
Share knowledge of local services and connect people with the right supports
Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture where your voice is valued
Desired Skills and Experience
Who We’re Looking For

From a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background – language skills are highly valued
Skilled in group facilitation and community connection
Compassionate listeners and respectful communicators
Confident using interpreters to ensure understanding and inclusion
Flexible, proactive, and committed to learning
Bringing qualifications and/or lived experience, particularly in mental health recovery
