Council of the City of Sydney, Australia NinjaRMM, LLC Full time

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead our local HR function in Australia and play a key role in shaping our people strategy as the organization continues to grow. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic HR professional who can think strategically, roll up their sleeves, and get things done. This role is perfect for an all-round HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands‑on execution in a fast‑evolving environment. You partner closely with leadership to support engagement, culture and performance, while coordinating with specialized teams (e.g., Payroll, Benefits) as needed to resolve employee inquiries.

Location

Sydney, NSW (North Sydney) – Hybrid, in office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday plus additional days as required

What You’ll be Doing

- Lead and execute all aspects of the local HR function — from daily operations to strategic people initiatives — as the organization scales.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across Australia, providing expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

- Partner with leaders to manage employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and organizational design.

- Oversee the end‑to‑end employee lifecycle, from offer to hire and onboarding, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver a seamless experience.

- Maintain HRIS data integrity and personnel records and generate meaningful insights to support data‑driven decision‑making.

- Conduct exit interviews and collaborate with leadership on employee engagement and retention initiatives.

- Champion culture and change management, supporting communication, engagement, and team‑building efforts.

- Handle employee relations cases with sound judgment, empathy, and a balance between people care and business needs.

- Collaborate cross‑functionally with global HR, finance, and operations teams to align on processes and share best practices.

- Adapt quickly and pitch in where needed – from designing policies to managing day‑to‑day queries and administrative tasks.

- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as needed to support business goals and foster a high‑performing culture.

- Other duties as required.

About You

- 5‑8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally supporting fast‑scaling or high‑growth technology organizations

- Strong understanding of Australian employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.

- A strategic mindset combined with hands‑on execution capability.

- Passionate about creating an inclusive, engaging, and high‑performance work culture.

- Proficiency with Dayforce or other enterprise HRIS

- Authentic customer‑service mindset and a passion for creating an exceptional employee experience

- Alignment with our core values: Curiosity, Integrity, Kindness, Humility, and Builders and commitment to fostering these values across teams
