A key focus of the position will be to work within the northern growth corridor of Melbourne in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives. This role will develop, build and execute effective and sustainable programs that influence community behaviour and attitudes in relation to healthy eating and oral health.
Applying health promotion principles, you will be given flexibility to explore new methodologies, techniques and technologies to find and build sustainable programs that deliver high impact and community reach.
The Health Promotion Officer will be a driver and communicator of DPV Health programs and services through building new relationships and the establishment of internal and external networks.
Working as part of the Population Health team, and reporting to the Senior Health Promotion Coordinator for:
- Coordinate programs relating to healthy eating and oral health
- Project planning and reporting
- Stakeholder and relationship management

To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Health Promotion/Community Development, Public Health or another relevant field. You will also come with:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with health promotion program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Highly developed written & verbal communication skills including ability to write reports, plans, and submissions and deliver presentations.
- Relevant knowledge or experience of project management
- Strong time management skills, supporting the ability to work both independently and in a team
- Experience and knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.
- Passion and persistence to influence community behaviours, opinions and attitudes
- Experience and skills at developing, establishing and sustaining interpersonal and stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge and or experience relating to healthy eating, oral health, physical activity and/or vaping related harm in a community health or other relevant setting.

- Managers and Admin Award - Grade 3.
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and possess up to date COVID vaccination status.
