**About the role**
**Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) - **Health Promotion team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Promotion Officer - Sporting Clubs. CBCHS Health Promotion creates opportunities for communities and residents to understand what influences their health and wellbeing and what can be done to make healthy choices easier.
We are looking for an energetic and passionate Health Promotion Officer - Sporting Clubs to support and enhance our team on a** 12 month fixed full time contract. **Hybrid role with flexible hours to suit you, between our Cheltenham branch, working from home and as well as providing outreach services

We’re a Health Promotion team that provides education and guidance to the local community. We have excellent relationships with other local services and work in a coordinated approach within the team. This role requires collaboration with the City of Kingston Council and other local support systems within the catchment. A main focus of this position will be working with the ‘Healthy Sports Clubs’ and ‘Vic Kids Eat Well’ frameworks.

VKEW is a state-wide movement dedicated to transforming the food and drink environments where children and families spend their time, including sports clubs and rec centres. The movement focuses on four key actions of:
- Reducing sugary drinks
- Reducing confectionary and unhealthy snacks
- Increasing healthier food and drink
- Removing unhealthy food marketing
**Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the organisation’s Health Promotion plan.
- Work in collaboration with external partners, including but not limited to; councils, Women’s Health Services and other providers to address identified population health issues.
- The ability to work autonomously on particular projects is essential.
- Assist in developing evidence based processes of health promotion initiatives.
- Develop and review health promotion policies and procedures for the organisation.
- Keep abreast of current health promotion literature and evidence based practice.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the service by ensuring that accurate and appropriate documentation of information, outcome measures and educational material is maintained. This includes maintaining relevant databases and the CBCHS intranet.
**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion or Public Health and/or equivalent qualifications and experience in relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in current Health Promotion planning, implementation and evaluation methods, to achieve required outcomes is essential.
- Well-developed verbal and written skills with the ability to explain concepts in an accessible manner, develop effective presentations and produce a range of written material including reports, marketing material and settings-based resources to support their health and wellbeing focuses.
- Proven ability to build strong peer and stakeholder relationships including the ability to gain positive outcomes for people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to develop responses to new/recurring issues based on evidence based best practice.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with the work team to achieve work plans and goals.
- Experience with sport and recreation centres (sports clubs, leisure centres, and local council and community services) would be advantageous.
- Current Victorian drivers licence and Working With Children Check (employee).
