The Audio & Visual Event Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment and systems for events hosted or supported by the organization. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of audio and visual setups for various events, ranging from corporate meetings to large‑scale conferences and concerts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in audio‑visual equipment, leadership skills to manage a team effectively, and a keen eye for detail to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

- Set up and install audio‑visual equipment including sound systems, microphones, projectors, video screens, lighting systems, and other AV components as required.

- Configure AV equipment based on event requirements and technical specifications.

- Operate and monitor audio and visual equipment throughout events to ensure optimal performance and make adjustments as necessary.

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AV equipment before, during, and after events.

- Interact with clients and event organizers to understand their audio and visual requirements.

- Provide technical recommendations and solutions based on client needs.

- Coordinate with other event vendors (e.g., catering, venue staff) to integrate AV setups seamlessly with overall event plans.

- Keep an inventory of AV equipment, track usage, and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.

- Recommend upgrades or new purchases based on technological advancements and event requirements.

- Conduct post‑event evaluations and gather feedback to improve AV services and customer satisfaction.

- Implement best practices for AV setup, operation, and troubleshooting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

- Maintain a safe working environment during AV setups and operations, including proper handling of equipment and cables.

- Proven experience as an Audio & Visual Technician, preferably in a live event or hospitality setting.

- Technical expertise in setting up and operating AV equipment such as sound systems, microphones, projectors, screens, and lighting systems.

- Familiarity with audio‑visual technology, including digital signal processing, audio mixing, and video streaming.

- Troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues under pressure.

- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.

- Customer service‑oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in AV setup, operation, and maintenance.

- RSA and RCG Competency (or willingness to obtain)
