Large Animal Veterinarian- Dairy Focus (Warragul Vet)
Are you passionate about dairy and large animal medicine?
Join our Warragul Vet team for a role that’s almost entirely dairy-focused, with only occasional mixed or companion animal work.
This is a unique opportunity to build your career alongside some of the most experienced dairy vets in the region.
Why Warragul Vet
- Backed by breadth and depth: Join a 9-vet team with a supportive culture and wide skill set, including highly experienced dairy vets who do consultancy work. Great minds to learn with and from.
- After-hours with safeguards: One night per week and one weekend in four, supported by tele-triage that filters calls so you’re looped in only when needed.
- Lifestyle without compromise: West Gippsland living with Melbourne and the coast about an hour away; get a feel for our vibe on Instagram @warragulvet.
- Part of something bigger: As an Apiam Animal Health clinic, access industry-leading internal training, genuine progression, and large animal veterinarian mentorship from across the network.
Our Team Culture
- We’ve got each other’s backs: We collaborate, share cases, and lend hands across consults, surgery, emergency, and farm work. Senior dairy vets provide practical know-how.
- Learning is every day, not an event: Case discussions are encouraged, and CPD is supported with Apiam programs and study leave to pursue your goals.
- Clear, respectful communication: Strong handovers and client comms keep busy days smooth; being a people-person matters here.
- Wellbeing is built-in: Tele-triage helps after-hours sanity, plus EAP access, Mental Health First Aid Officers in every clinic, and paid volunteer leave.
- Community-minded: We show up because being part of the community matters to us.
About Warragul & Gippsland
Warragul is the vibrant heart of West Gippsland—rolling green hills, rich dairy country, and a truly welcoming community. You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds: relaxed regional living with city and coast within easy reach.
Dive into a strong café scene and providores shaped by world-class local produce and wineries. Don’t miss the Warragul Farmers Market for great coffee, live music, and gourmet stalls.
There are plenty of parks, trails & outdoor activities, arts and culture and everyday convenience of major retailers and boutiques. Warragul blends country charm with city convenience.
