Overview

Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees, delivering counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services across multiple locations in WA. The role is based in a call room environment, conducting assessments and providing information and referrals to accommodation and service providers, with some face-to-face appointments for clients experiencing complex issues.

Responsibilities

- Conduct assessments and provide information and referrals to accommodation and service providers for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
- Conduct face-to-face appointments with clients who may have domestic violence, substance use, mental health and suicidal ideation concerns.
- Build rapport quickly with clients in a high-volume service environment via telephone and in-person interactions.
- Work closely in a small team to support clients.
- Daily entry of client notes into client management software.
- Rostered shifts: 150 hours per four-week period with shifts including 8:30am–4:30pm, 9:00am–5:00pm, and 11:15am–7:15pm, with one Saturday shift per month.

About You (Qualifications & Experience)

- Recognised tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor) in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Behavioural Science and Aboriginal Studies, Community Development, or related disciplines. Diploma is not accepted.
- 1–2 years' experience in the social services sector (Level 4) or 3–5 years' experience (Level 5).
- Demonstrated high-quality assessment and interview skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence and resilience.
- Experience engaging with young people, individuals, couples and families facing multiple, complex issues.
- Comprehensive training and professional development opportunities.
