Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Carpenter to join our commercial construction team. The successful candidate will be experienced in both structural and finishing works, with the ability to handle a wide variety of construction tasks across steel, concrete, and timber. This role requires flexibility to work across demolition, installation, and finishing phases, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

The position will report directly to the Operations Manager and Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with steel framework systems
- Install, flush, and sand gyprock sheeting
- Perform mild and heavy steel structural works
- Carry out demolition works safely and effectively
- Flood, smooth, and grind concrete surfaces
- Install formwork for structural and finishing needs
- Construct and install timber framework
- Conduct minor roof works where required
- Work in asbestos and hazardous material (hazmat) environments, following strict safety procedures
- Operate EWP (Elevated Work Platform) safely and effectively
- Perform tasks involving working at heights and confined spaces
- Complete daily shift reports accurately and on time
- Maintain strong computer literacy for reporting and project coordination

Requirements

- EWP ticket - essential
- Working at Heights certification - essential
- Confined Spaces certification - essential
- Hazmat ticket - optional but highly regarded
- Truck license - optional but advantageous
- Ability and willingness to work in asbestos and hazmat conditions (training/PPE provided)
- Flexibility to work early morning, afternoon, and night shifts (normal shift start at 5:00 AM)
- Must have a reliable vehicle and transport
- Strong practical construction skills; formal qualifications not required but considered ideal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to company procedures
