Role and Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Head of Learning Enhancement, this role will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic growth of students from Year 7-12. This position involves working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students to identify and implement strategies that support diverse learning needs and promote academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive learning enhancement programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver differentiated instruction that maximizes student engagement and achievement.
- Provide leadership and support in the identification and assessment of students with learning difficulties or exceptional abilities.
- Work closely with parents, providing regular updates and resources to support their child’s learning journey.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning enhancement programs and make data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to reach their full potential.
- Conduct professional development sessions for staff on best practices in learning enhancement and inclusive education.
- Stay abreast of current research and developments in the field of education, particularly in learning enhancement and inclusive practices.

This position is ongoing and part-time (0.6) commencing in January 2026. Small group and 1:1 teaching will be required. Candidates who hold qualifications and experience in teaching additional methods may like to apply. Subject to school operational needs, there may be scope to increase the time fraction of this position with additional allocation of classroom teaching.

Qualifications and Experience

- A degree in Education or a related field is essential; a postgraduate qualification in Special Education or Learning Enhancement is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in teaching and educational leadership, preferably in an independent school setting.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective learning enhancement programs.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational trends and research.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
