The role

The responsibility allowance for this position is 5 periods per cycle and $2,123.

The Deputy Head of Department plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the department's daily operations and supporting the Head of Department in implementing the curriculum. This position involves coordinating and collaborating with teachers to ensure effective delivery of lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting a passion for learning among students. The Deputy Head of Department is also responsible for mentoring and developing the teaching staff, facilitating professional development opportunities, and contributing to curriculum enhancement initiatives.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

- Assisting in leading the design, development and implementation of effective teaching and learning practices in the department
- Ensuring staff are familiar with College policies and procedures relating to internal and external course requirements, assessment approaches and reporting procedures
- Supporting the Head of Department in facilitating a cycle of curriculum review
