About CPM

At CPM Advisory and Project Management, we partner with government clients to deliver infrastructure that shapes communities and drives public value. As a client-side consultancy, we bring deep expertise in project management across the full lifecycle, from early planning and feasibility through to delivery and completion. Our team is made up of experienced professionals from civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering backgrounds, as well as seasoned buildings project managers. We operate across five specialist divisions: Water, Energy, Ports & Maritime, Civil, and Social Infrastructure.

We’re proud to contribute to projects that matter – roads, rail, utilities, grid infrastructure including HV/LV power and substations, dams, marine infrastructure, and civic buildings. Working alongside public sector clients to deliver outcomes that are technically sound, socially impactful, and future ready. At CPM we don’t just manage projects, we help shape the future of public infrastructure and unlock hidden value for our clients.

About the Role

As a Project Manager in our Water team, you’ll play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects for public sector clients. You will be responsible for managing projects across the full lifecycle, from early planning and feasibility through to procurement, delivery, and completion. This role involves working closely with government stakeholders, consultants, and delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will lead project teams, manage scope and risk, and provide strategic advice that supports client objectives and community outcomes. You could be involved in projects ranging from targeted capital works through to multi-year programs that reshape critical infrastructure. Typical projects include dams, water infrastructure, sewerage and wastewater treatment plants, water pipelines, and broader water asset management.

Skills | Experience | Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of technical capability, collaborative spirit, and a proactive mindset. If you’re ready to jump in and help drive better outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll ideally have:

- A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience with minor works projects within water infrastructure
- Experience in managing the design and delivery phase of projects such as planning, procurement, contract management, budget and schedule development, site supervision and overseeing contractors and consultants
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and build trusted relationships
- Solid time-management skills and a "have a go" attitude
- RPEQ or CPEng accreditation (or working towards it would be highly regarded)

We’re open to candidates with experience from client-side, contractor, or consultancy backgrounds.

You will be part of a collaborative and high-performing CPM team that values technical excellence, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your ability to build trusted relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and drive project outcomes will be key to your success.
