What’s in it for you?
Join a well-established and growing Consulting Project Management firm with a strong, stable pipeline of exciting work.
- Salary: $110k – $150k (commensurate with experience)
- Work on mission-critical projects – health, hospitals, data centres, life sciences & laboratories, in addition to towers and apartment builds
- Learn directly from highly respected senior leaders who’ll help you grow your skill set capability as a PM
- Exposure to both private and public sector clients with repeat business and long-term relationships - projects range from $5M - $200M+
- Be part of a collaborative, ambitious team in a business scaling steadily year on year
This is a great chance to use your site and delivery knowledge in a client-side environment while building towards a long-term Project Management career.
The Role & What We’re Seeking
We’re looking for an up-and-coming Client-Side Project Manager – someone with a strong grounding in commercial construction who’s ready to step up and develop their career in project leadership.
If you’re currently a Contract Administrator, Project Coordinator, Site Engineer or Project Engineer in Melbourne’s commercial building sector, this is a natural next move.
You’ll manage projects through the full lifecycle, from early design and planning through to construction delivery and handover. You’ll work with architects, engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, councils and builders, helping clients navigate complex builds and achieve successful outcomes.
We’re open on exact years of experience, but it/'s likely you’ll bring 3–5+ years in commercial construction ('vertical' buildings, not civil/infrastructure) and the confidence to work with multiple stakeholders.
Your Next Employer
This firm is a growing, well-respected consulting PM practice with a flat structure and an collaborative attitude to construction project management. They pride themselves on long-term relationships, repeat clients, and creating environments where junior and intermediate project managers can grow quickly under strong mentorship.
They deliver projects across Commercial buildings:
- Housing (Build-to-Rent & Build-to-Sell apartments)
- Sports and recreation facilities
- Schools & education
- Data centres
- Medical & health (including hospitals)
- Biosciences & pharmaceutical facilities
The culture is supportive but driven, hard working yet collaborative - you’ll be trusted to deliver, while having guidance from senior leaders who know how to develop future project directors.
Are You Suitable?
Must haves:
- Experience delivering commercial building projects with a head contractor (not civil or infrastructure)
- Strong people skills and emotional intelligence (EQ) – you’re confident dealing with diverse stakeholders
- Clear written and verbal communication – you can walk into a room and hold your own
- A track record of contributing to successful projects from start to finish
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Exposure to complex or technically challenging builds such as hospitals, pharmaceutical, data centres or R&D facilities
- Local Melbourne market knowledge (Sponsorship can be considered if you’re otherwise the right fit)
We’re looking for someone with drive, personality, and potential – someone who wants to grow and develop into a trusted project manager and future leader.
