About the Role

PeopleIN is on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our energetic Finance Team in Brisbane. In this pivotal role, you will support our financial reporting activities and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include:

- Processing general and recurring monthly journal entries as directed by the Divisional Finance Controller and Company Accountant
- Completing bank reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assisting in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations across the Group
- Supporting the development of profit and loss statements for the Group
- Contributing to bi-annual audit preparations
- Generating sales invoices and entering supplier invoices as needed
- Providing support with ad hoc finance tasks as required

About You

You are a confident communicator who thrives on building strong relationships across all levels of the business. With a career-focused mindset and a proactive attitude, you are ready to take on new challenges and grow within a dynamic finance environment. To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Commerce
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting role
- A collaborative mindset and a positive, can-do attitude
- Strong organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communication
- High numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially for preparing fortnightly client reports
