Based in Brisbane's Western Suburbs, this medium sized contractor provides electrical lighting, power and telecommunications services to Tier 2 Builders, delivering a diverse range of technically challenging and exciting construction projects.

Electrical Estimator

New career opportunity for an Electrical Estimator who also enjoys being involved in the design and project delivery phase. You will bring experience in commercial and multi level residential construction projects, demonstrating a successful track record in the industry. Good technical aptitude, exceptional time management, strong computer and communication skills are all important to the success of the role.

Working closely with the company Director, Operations Manager and Senior Estimator, day to day responsibilities will include:

- Scope and design of electrical lighting and power systems for projects

- Analysing project drawings, plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates

- Accurate compilation of tender submissions and presentations

- Review and understand contract conditions, post contract monitoring and reporting including cost analysis and variations

- Identify creative solutions to client requirements that may involve a degree of competitive differentiation and innovation

- Attend site inspections, actively participate in meetings, build and maintain strong relationships with company clients, industry suppliers and subcontractors

- Confidently negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on prices and variation orders

This opportunity requires the qualifications and skillset of a confident, technically astute Electrical Estimator with commercial and multi-level residential experience. The ideal candidate for this role will be driven to succeed with confidence operating in an autonomous role while working within a team under the support of the Company Management. You will also bring the following relevant skills and qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Estimating and Design

- Ability to build and maintain long term client relationships

- Strong technical knowledge and capabilities

- Proficient in Revit MEP and AutoCAD (preferred)

- Experienced LV systems design

- Proficient in Simpro, Groundplan, Adobe & MS operating systems

- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment

- Strong understanding and working knowledge of electrical industry and safety standards

- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, maintaining strong relationships
