The Position:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our client's team in their Brisbane office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a crucial role in estimating, negotiating, and securing new electrical and instrumentation projects predominantly within the utilities, resources, mining, oil and gas, or heavy industrial sectors. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the identification of suitable upcoming tenders, manage the end-to-end estimates pipeline, and prepare comprehensive estimate summaries for bid/no-bid decisions and board reviews.
• Develop accurate and competitive project estimates by evaluating tender documents, drawings, and specifications, incorporating historical data and expert judgement.
• Partner closely with engineering and project execution teams to craft innovative and client-focused estimates, and contribute to the development and implementation of winning proposal strategies.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with operational teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are well-defined, tender submissions are robust, and strong working relationships are maintained.
• Provide timely reports on estimating and bid risks, participate in estimate handover processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation methodologies and practices.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you will have at least 5 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator with a proven ability to prioritise and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. You are seeking a long-term opportunity and ideally possess:

• Previous experience working with an electrical contractor in the heavy industrial sector (highly regarded).
• An electrical trade qualification or a degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
• Possesses a deep understanding of electrical systems, design, installation, project costing, scheduling, and delivery, coupled with familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Demonstrates well-developed written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Highly organised with strong time management skills to handle multiple tenders simultaneously, and proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and electrical estimating software (e.g., WinEst, Espro, CostX). Experience with project management software is a plus.
• Exhibits a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the role.
