About the role:
Spencer Gulf Cities (SGC) is a strategic partnership between the Cities of Port Pirie, Port Augusta and Whyalla. Reporting to the SGC Board, the Executive Officer is responsible for leading the operations of SGC and supporting the Mayors and CEOs of the member Councils to achieve regional collaboration, advocacy and growth outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high-level governance, financial and administrative oversight of the organisation.
- Coordinate Board meetings, media opportunities and stakeholder forums.
- Drive advocacy and promotion of the region across government, industry and community.
- Support the delivery of strategic initiatives in line with SGC's work plan.
- Pursue opportunities for external funding and grants to support regional priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional collaboration and advocacy across Port Pirie, Port Augusta and Whyalla.
- Drive strategic initiatives that support economic transition, investment, visitation and regional prosperity.
- Apply your leadership, governance and stakeholder engagement skills to a role that makes a genuine impact.
About you:
We are looking for a person who has:
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage organisational governance and compliance.
- Strong experience in developing partnerships across government, business and community.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, including political advocacy, media engagement and report preparation.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and strategic planning.
- A track record of securing and managing external grants.
- A collaborative, strategic and results-focused mindset.
