Service

Allied and Community Health Service

Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. Orthotic and Prosthetics (O&P)

Whyalla Hospital Orthotics and Prosthetics department provides personalised support for custom braces or artificial limbs. As the only Orthotics and Prosthetics service located outside of the metropolitan area, we provide services in the regional centres of Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, and Port Pirie. Also providing services to clients staying in Whyalla hospital and those visiting for appointments, including rehabilitation and temporary prosthetic care. The O&P team help people who are part of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) with their ongoing care and work with podiatrists to support clients with high-risk feet in Whyalla and Port Augusta. Our overall goal is to improve client/'s movement and quality of life through treatment, education, and support.

About the Role

Whether you/'re starting out or stepping into a more senior role, this is an exciting opportunity to join our Allied Health team as a Podiatrist and contribute to the delivery of integrated, community-focused care across the Flinders and Upper North region.

As the AHP1 Podiatrist, you will work under the guidance of an experienced Podiatrist, delivering a mix of preventative, early intervention, and therapeutic podiatry services. You/'ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to address the health needs of the local community, gaining valuable experience and building your clinical skills.

As the AHP2 Podiatrist, you/'ll apply your clinical experience and growing expertise to independently plan, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive podiatry services. Working with reduced clinical supervision, you may also contribute to the supervision and support of junior podiatrists, allied health assistants, and students. Your work will span prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation—ensuring the best possible outcomes for individuals and the broader community.

About You

- Must hold a recognised qualification within a relevant Allied Health profession and be eligible for practicing membership of the relevant Professional Association.

AHP1

- Provide a broad range of clinical services, selecting, adopting and applying methods, procedures and standards which are generally well established and straightforward.

- Exercise professional judgment within prescribed areas, with support from a Clinical Senior to verify methods and results.

- Provide straightforward clinical services, including one-on-one, group and health promotion activities.

- Manage and prioritise personal workload.

AHP2

- Apply professional expertise, developing generalist/specialist knowledge, clinical competence and experience to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.

- Exercise professional judgment in the selection and adaptation of established methods, procedures, and techniques within the profession.

- May provide a broad range of clinical and consultative services across a range of service settings, including one-on-one, group based and health promotion activities.

- Manage and prioritise personal workload and support others in developing workload management plans, including in the allocation of team resources.
