The role

As Director Planning Compliance, you’ll lead teams across the Sydney Metro region to make sure planning rules are followed and investigations are handled with expertise and care. Your job is to set up strong systems and policies, guide your teams through complex compliance issues, and provide clear, timely advice to leaders and stakeholders.

You’ll face challenges like managing sensitive or high‑profile compliance matters, balancing different stakeholder views, and responding to emerging risks. Success means working collaboratively, supporting your team, and always aiming for best practice in regulatory work, even when things get tough or the spotlight is on.

What you will bring to the role

- Experience in leading and developing diverse regulatory teams to deliver Government priorities and outcomes.

- Significant experience in regulatory compliance including leading investigations, undertaking regulatory reform, conducting stakeholder engagement, and the development, interpretation and application of relevant legislation.

Essential requirements

- The ability to travel and work outside normal business hours to provide emergency response to serious environmental incidents.

- A current Australian driver’s licence.
