Strategic Asset Management Lead (Local Council)

Are you a highly articulate and strategic Asset Management leader ready to drive significant change? A progressive council in the Greater Perth region is seeking a dedicated professional to lead the development and implementation of their comprehensive strategic asset management framework. This is a chance to make a substantial impact, taking ownership of a diverse capital portfolio including civil infrastructure, buildings, and parks. This council has identified they have a journey to take and they need help to progress along their asset management maturity pathway.

The Opportunity: Contract or Permanent

- Contract: 5-month engagement. Rate up to $100 p/h (inc. super).

- Permanent: A full-time, long-term opportunity. Salary up to $150k + Super (Negotiable for the right candidate, potentially up to $155k) + Private Use Vehicle.

Key Responsibilities & Impact

You will provide leadership in strategic asset management and report to the Manager Engineering Services.

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a long-term asset management framework aligned with the Council Plan, service planning, and financial sustainability objectives.

- Asset Governance: Lead the City’s cross‑functional Asset Management Working Group to promote integrated asset planning.

- Systems and Data Integrity: Oversee asset registers, ensuring up‑to‑date data capture, and advising on asset renewal modelling and scenario analysis. Strong focus on improving data integrity is critical. Expertise in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Strategic Asset Management (SAM) software platforms is essential (experience with TechnologyOne EAM/SAM is highly regarded).

- Works Programs: Lead the development of Asset Management‑led Works Programs, coordinate cyclic asset valuations assets, and support capital works program delivery.

What We’re Looking For

- Suitable qualifications with extensive experience in strategic and operational asset management.

- Extensive knowledge of Local Government asset infrastructure.

- Proven ability to present complex data and information in a manner readily understood by customers.

- Highly developed computer literacy with knowledge of asset management computer applications and databases (TechnologyOne EAM/SAM preferred).

- Generous Salary Package: Up to $150k - $155k + Super + Private Use Vehicle (includes private usage).

- Flexible Working: Flexible working hours and open to WFH (individual agreements, no roster).

- RDO: Entitled to a Rostered Day Off (RDO) of one day per month.
