Responsibilities

- Inspect food items to ensure freshness, quality, and standards are met.
- Operate and regulate ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
- Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of menu items to a high standard.
- Adjust seasoning and flavors during cooking to achieve consistency.
- Portion dishes accurately, plate attractively, and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes.
- Store food appropriately in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Prepare meals tailored to special dietary requirements when required.
- Assist in menu planning, stock ordering, and estimating food requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior kitchen staff.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Qualifications

- 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Cook (essential).
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent minimum qualification (required).
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
