Vel Restaurant & Cafe in Carrum Downs VIC is seeking multiple full time Cooks with the right attitude and passion for working with food with at least 1 years kitchen experience.

Responsibilities
- Equip the kitchen with necessary cooking tools and utensils such as pots, knives, chopping boards, and bowls to ensure a smooth operation and readiness to serve customers.
- Adapt to customers' special requests, such as reducing salt or omitting spices.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and employer to discuss special ideas and assist in menu design.
- Manage stocktaking and rotation using the FIFO method to minimize waste.
- Enforce food safety and hygiene procedures in the kitchen, cold room, and freezer.
- Work with other staff and front-of-house personnel to address and resolve customer complaints and feedback.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, reorder supplies in a timely manner, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Operational Procedures: Ensure smooth execution of opening and closing procedures for daily operational efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
Cert III Commercial Cookery & Cert IV
Experience Requirement: At least 1 years kitchen experience
- Genuine passion for cooking.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities, maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.
- Reliability and creativity.
- Capability to multitask and handle various responsibilities.
- Ability to stay calm and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
