Job Description

Prepare and cook meals and present food for customers. Organise menu board and specials board. Work with Head Chef on menu plans and menu development. All aspects of food purchasing, including ordering, receiving and stock control. Prepare kitchen area at commencement of shift. Assist in training and development of apprentices and other staff.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook both traditional and modern dishes.
- Develop new menu items while staying true to authentic culinary practices.
- Ensure food is consistently prepared and presented according to set recipes and standards.
- Oversee inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain stock.
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

- At least one year working experience as a chef in a reputable restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of cuisine and cooking techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
