Job Description
Position Overview
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of Sales & Marketing will take ownership of shaping and executing the group’s sales and marketing strategy to deliver strong and sustainable growth. You will lead with a clear commercial focus, driving alignment across pricing and inventory to capture opportunities and strengthen our position in key market segments.
Through decisive leadership and strategic direction, you will empower your team to execute high-impact initiatives that enhance financial performance, build market presence, and ensure the group achieves its long-term growth ambitions.
You will lead from the front, driving initiatives that accelerate financial performance, strengthen our competitive position, elevate customer experience, and deliver sustained growth across the group. Beyond operational oversight, you will spearhead the development of powerful marketing campaigns that amplify brand presence, accelerate customer acquisition, and foster long-term loyalty. Leveraging data, market intelligence, and competitor analysis, you will position Emmetts to anticipate market shifts, highlight John Deere’s innovative solutions, and drive market share across our key regions.
This role calls for a leader who thrives on creating momentum, seizing opportunities, and galvanising their team to deliver transformative outcomes. By aligning sales execution with broader business objectives, you will play a central role in achieving sustained financial performance and maintaining Emmetts’ reputation as a leading John Deere dealer – Keeping Our Farmers Farming.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive bold sales and marketing strategies to grow market share, revenue, and brand presence.
- Own the customer journey, delivering standout experiences that build loyalty and win new business.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering accountability, results, and empowerment.
- Optimise pricing, product mix, inventory, and campaigns to maximise financial performance.
- Build strong partnerships, exceed branch KPIs, and champion innovation, improvement, and safety.
About You
- Extensive experience providing strategic oversight in a commercial, customer-focused environment.
- Strong reputation and genuine passion for the agricultural industry.
- Demonstrated success leading sales and marketing functions to deliver growth and profitability.
- Skilled in building and motivating high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, able to influence at all levels – from technicians and customers to industry leaders.
- Proven experience in digital strategy, advertising, PR, and customer loyalty programs.
- Strong commercial acumen with financial and risk management expertise.
- Committed to fostering a culture of Safety, Quality, Health & Environment.
- Agricultural industry or equipment sales background highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience desirable.
