We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Purchasing Manager to join our busy high-performance catering unit in Perth Airport on a full-time basis.

More about this role:

As the Purchasing Manager, you will be overseeing a wide variety of supply chain activities and ensuring successful management of the supply of products and services. You will be responsible for purchasing, receiving and issuing products to specifications and ensuring sufficient stocks are available to meet production demands. You will lead initiatives that contribute to sustainable cost reduction and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

- Managing the day-to-day operations of receiving, dispatching and accounting for goods in the stores

- Contributing to the promotion of cost sustainability/improvement with focus on lowest total cost of ownership through best practice in stock maintenance

- Monitoring consumption of short shelf-life products

- Effective interdepartmental collaboration to ensure deliveries are anticipated

- Generating weekly purchasing and wastage reports as requested by the Manager

- Ensuring the timely and efficient acceptance of inbound goods and stores destined for use in Catering

- Preparing relevant reports and commentary from within the required ERP systems

- Coordinating with National Procurement and Menu Development on managing ERP Bill of Materials vs ERP Catalogue at a port level and cross-checking upcoming menus and recipes against ERP Bill of Materials

- Managing monthly stocktakes and reporting on SOH

- Managing team performance and providing effective development and coaching to ensure optimum levels of team and individual performance

- Ensuring staff compliance with relevant regulatory compliance

- Maintaining the company’s policy in relation to HACCP, QSAI and WHS in accordance with Federal and State Government Regulations

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in a similar position

- At home in a busy multi-site warehouse environment

- Leadership of a large cross-functional workforce

- Good knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety, QSAI requirements and WHS

- Experience using industry related ERP Ordering and Billing systems

- The ability to implement and manage efficient process flow and systems in line with budgetary expectations

- Knowledge of recipe specifications and ingredient brands, including understanding of Halal policies and procedures

- Good knowledge of Stores procedures

- Holder of a current Forklift License

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
