
Ministerial and Government Communications Officer

Our government client is seeking a Ministerial and Communications Officer for an initial 6-month contract. This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality written material, supporting executive decision-making, and managing complex Ministerial and corporate communications within a fast-paced government environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clear, accurate, and well-structured written material including Ministerial responses, briefing notes, reports, speeches, and media statements.
- Interpret complex information and prepare concise advice to inform executive decisions and official correspondence.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather and verify information for sensitive and time-critical matters.
- Manage the flow of Ministerial and corporate communications to ensure deadlines, approvals, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Prepare and coordinate briefing materials for high-level engagements such as Cabinet meetings, parliamentary sessions, and budget hearings.
- Monitor and respond to parliamentary questions, committee inquiries, and other requests related to the Directorate’s activities.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience drafting and coordinating Ministerial or executive-level communications within a government or large corporate environment.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear, accurate, and meaningful content.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating sound judgement and attention to detail.
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience using Content Manager (TRIM) or similar electronic document and records management systems.
