Your Role in the Adventure:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to lead and strategically develop our Outdoor Experiences program in a part‑time capacity (0.9‑FTE, negotiable and with the ability to grow in 2027), starting in Term 1, 2026.

This exciting role includes a 0.2‑FTE component dedicated to IGSSA interschool sport coordination, offering a dynamic blend of outdoor education and sporting leadership.

The successful applicants will have:

- Diploma of Teaching or a Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Graduate Diploma of Education.

- Current TRBWA Membership

- National Police Clearance

- Current Working with Children card (WWC)

- Current First Aid

- Current Surf Bronze Medallion or START

- Appropriate Driver’s License to drive school buses

- Specific activity‑related instructor qualifications (e.g. roping, paddling, Bush Walking)

The following essential criteria must be addressed in your cover letter:

- Strategic curriculum development ability to align Outdoor experiences across the College

- Experience with risk management and safety, planning and response to potential emergency situations.

- Leading a variety of outdoor education and leadership experiences across large groups (e.g. school years), fostering progressive educational values and principles.

- Experience instructing/coordinating specific Outdoor Education experiences – depending on area of specialisation/personal competence.

- Demonstrated experience with Outdoor Education activity equipment selection and use.

- Commitment to providing students with a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.

Penrhos College Boarding House is currently inviting applications for the positions of Boarding House Year Coordinators commencing in Term 1, 2026. We have both full‑time and part‑time opportunities available. The Boarding House has approximately 100 students ranging from Year 7 to 12. The Boarding House Year Coordinators role is to provide appropriate supervision in the general routine of boarding students as well as quality pastoral care support. These positions will commence in late January and will be on‑going following the satisfactory completion of a 6‑month probationary period.

We have a variety of shifts available with accommodation and meals provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, balance a supportive approach with the need for consistency and structure and administer all rules and procedures with the Boarders.

Duties related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- To provide guidance and supervision of all boarding students.

- To provide support with internal and external recreational activities.

- To undertake administrative functions to support role

- Support the College and Head of Boarding to provide for the spiritual, academic, cultural emotional and physical needs of the students in the boarding house.

- Provide a duty of care, that is, to take all reasonable steps to ensure the well‑being of the student.

The successful applicant will have:

- Ability to work positively, cooperatively and collaboratively within a team environment

- Demonstrate a positive role model for students

- Experience in interacting with young people

- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to gain one)

- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to gain one)

- Computer Literacy

- Experience in the use of Database is highly desirable
