About the Position

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our client’s high‑calibre Dispute Resolution & Litigation team in Brisbane. You’ll work closely with an experienced partner and a dynamic team of lawyers and paralegals on a nationally significant and high‑profile matter involving the Commonwealth Government.

This is a pivotal role involving direct client contact, strategic planning, and contribution to a large‑scale legal effort. While your main focus will be this Commonwealth matter, the wider team engages in a broad spectrum of disputes work, such as:

- Representing government regulators and corporate clients in investigations and civil penalty actions

- Managing judicial review proceedings for government departments

- Advising on Royal Commissions, procurement disputes, and internal investigations

- Handling regulatory enforcement matters for listed and private entities

This position offers strong potential for leadership, mentorship, and career growth within a supportive national disputes practice.

Key Requirements

- Minimum 4‑6 years’ PAE, ideally operating at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level

- Commercial litigation background, ideally in a respected disputes practice

- Exposure to government or regulatory disputes and investigations is highly regarded

- Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills

- Proven ability to manage complex workflows and lead junior lawyers

- Comfortable managing client relationships across government and corporate sectors

- Eligibility to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
