Opal ANZ is an industry-leading paper and packaging business. We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest packaging companies in Australia, as we are currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to come onboard.

Servicing our sites across Victoria and Tasmania, the key focus of this role will be to:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Provide Health and Safety support and advice to sites across the 2 states.
- Support other Victorian sites as backup to the other Safety Managers on an ‘as required’ basis.
- Ensure key safety risks are being managed, both for employees and contractors.
- Support the strategic roll-out of standardized systems and practices across our sites
- Ensure the engagement of Health & Safety Representatives and committees, and that worker consultation requirements are met

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

- Experience in similar roles, advising and/ or overseeing site safety matters
- Ability to develop and maintain strong ongoing relationships with stakeholders
- An optimistic, enthusiastic mindset and problem-solving skills
- The ability to travel to the different sites across Victoria and Tasmania (this role will be visiting Tasmania for a minimum of 1 week per month)
- The ability to be a self-starter and work autonomously
- Flexibility and desire to assist the broader team where required
- Prior experience implementing health and safety processes and systems (is highly regarded)
- Experience working within a manufacturing or fast-paced warehousing environment (would be viewed favourably)
