Your New Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Retirement Enablement, this role is focused on the development of retirement research, analysis, and modelling to support the Fund’s Retirement Income Strategy and ambition to become a market leader in retirement.
This role will build out robust and sophisticated retirement modelling capabilities required to better understand members’ retirement outcomes. Strategic insights generated from these models and various other analytical techniques will directly inform the retirement and guidance proposition, influencing the design of key initiatives to drive better outcomes for members.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sophisticated models to assess retirement outcomes for members.
- Draw on retirement modelling output and data analysis to undertake research and drive retirement innovation.
- Translate complex modelling outputs into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvements to retirement modelling frameworks, methodologies and underlying data.
- Lead the evolution of retirement metrics and expansion of the Retirement Dashboard with leading indicators to aid management decision-making.
- Follow the relevant governance structures, policies and processes, and assist with identifying any improvements.
- Adhere to the risk controls on processes, policies and systems to ensure breaches are limited; actively contribute to a team culture of compliance and risk management awareness and appreciation.
- Assist with representing the Retirement Team across the rest of the Fund.
What You’ll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in a finance, statistical, actuarial or business-related discipline
- 10 years+ experience in advanced financial, statistical, actuarial or equivalent business-related quantitative analyses
- Deep technical knowledge and experience relating to retirement (potentially through superannuation experience, investment management, wealth management industry, etc)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in data analysis and modelling superannuation systems and financial outcomes, including income projections.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel).
- Well-developed ability to identify when data and analysis is materially incorrect and obtain solutions.
- Experience in using analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative framework impacting on the superannuation industry.
- Proactive and highly adaptable.
- A strategic thinker who can see how parts interact with the whole (i.e. big picture thinking, across people, systems, process & data).
- Strong relationship and inter-personal skills with an emphasis on being able to work in a highly collaborative environment supporting multiple business units.
