As an Actuarial Analyst in the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Reserving Actuarial team, you'll be responsible for data manipulation and modelling to generate and support the recommendation of actuarial liabilities of the Workers Compensation portfolio. You'll also deliver business advisory insights across claims experience, performance trends, underlying risks and issues. This is a permanent full-time opportunity, based in either Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
Responsibilities- Manipulate data and build models to support actuarial liabilities of the Workers Compensation portfolio.
- Deliver business advisory insights across claims experience, performance trends, underlying risks and issues.
- Develop technical skills in reserving, capital and adjacent areas (e.g., building actuarial models, coding in SAS or R).
- Deliver processes and projects efficiently, recommend improvements, and produce clear, insightful reports and dashboards using tools like R Markdown.
- Actuarial Degree or tertiary qualifications in an analytical field
- 0-2 years of experience in actuarial or a relevant role
- Coding experience in R and/or SAS is ideal but not essential; proficiency in Excel is preferred
