2 x permanent full-time positions, 38 hours per week, 5 days/week. Salary: $74,245.91 to $81,162.07 + 12% super.

Job Description

We are seeking motivated Parking Patrol Officers to join our Community Standards Department. In this role, you will assist with monitoring, patrolling, and enforcing parking across both on‑street locations and Council‑managed car parks.

Responsibilities

- Providing clear and accurate information to the public about parking laws.
- Issuing penalty notices where required.
- Preparing and presenting evidence in Court when necessary.
- Supporting community safety through proactive patrols of Council's facilities and assets.

No two days will be the same in this dynamic, customer-facing role. You will be out in the community, helping to ensure that public spaces remain safe, accessible, and well managed. You will play an important role in supporting the community, building positive relations, encouraging legal parking while providing excellent customer service.

This position suits someone who enjoys being outdoors, engaging with the public, and working as part of a team committed to maintaining safety and accessibility across our city. Opportunities for overtime are also available, providing flexibility and additional earning potential.

About You

- A current Class C Driver's Licence.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve conflict in a professional, fair, and timely manner.
- An understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and a commitment to applying them in the workplace.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance functions within Local Government or a related field.
- Experience preparing evidence and reports for legal matters will be highly regarded.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation will be highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and customer service.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of technical knowledge, sound judgement and strong people skills.
