Details: ACT NoWaste is looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader who will play a key role in the design and management of sustainable waste management and resource recovery services for the Canberra Community.
You will lead a small team responsible for managing and ensuring the effective performance of ACT waste management contracts and resource recovery facilities. You will harness your strong relationship building and teamwork abilities and demonstrated skills toachieve results in a dynamic service delivery environment.
Tasks that you enjoy at work include critical thinking, communicating with influence, negotiating complex issues, and conducting research and analysis to improve business practices and performance.
This role requires someone who can inspire, energise, and positively influence team and individual outcomes. At the SOGB level, the role is responsible for delivering outcomes, supervising, managing, and motivating a team, and providing appropriate support and guidance across the ACT NoWaste Branch.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of approximately three months up until 18 February 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 6 months. Selection may be based on written application only, with a merit pool established to fill future vacancies should they arise.
This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
