Assistant Director, Communications and Engagement
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency

Details: The City and Environment Directorate is looking for a communications and engagement professional to fill the role of Assistant Director, Communications and Engagement. This role will support strategic communications projects being rolled out by the City and Environment Directorate with a focus on ACT NoWaste. ACT NoWaste is focussed on informing the ACT community about waste services and facilities and growing the circular economy.

We are looking for an individual who can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience in the development and implementation of strategic communications plans, preparing content for a range of traditional and digital channels and issues management is required.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and a minimum of five years’ experience working professionally in the fields of strategic engagement, strategic communications, media or public relations is highly desirable.
- Experience in working on waste and recycling related projects is highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
