Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is offering a Temporary Full Time position for a Dental Officer Level 1 at Nepean Hospital. Requisition: REQ606376. Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 08/01/2027). Location: Nepean Hospital. Remuneration: $51.97 - $67.23 per hour. Hours per Week: 38. Application Close: 25/09/2025.

About NBMLHD

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District provides public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions. The District’s Oral Health (Dental) services are delivered at Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic. Services include diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.

The 12-Month New Graduate Dentist Program offers hands-on mentoring across general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics and orthodontics to help you grow your clinical skills in a supportive, real-world environment.

What you will bring to the role

- Final year dentistry student anticipating graduation at the end of the current year with a qualification eligible for full, unlimited registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

- Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal communications and maintain professionalism at all times

- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication

- Interest in the principles of public sector dentistry and oral health promotion

- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality dental services within the scope of general dental practice

- Ability and willingness to provide dental services at different locations across NBMLHD

- Post-interview, if short-listed, New Graduate Dental Officers may be required to undertake a practical assessment; recruitment based on interview, assessment and reference checks

Employment of a temporary visa holder may occur only if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the visa conditions.
