This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage construction operations in New South Wales, driving project success and contributing to the growth of our organisation with its current turnover being circa $350m.

Job Description

As the NSW Construction Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and managing construction activities within their fit out division with a focus on live site D&C projects. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring their successful delivery within budget, schedule, and quality parameters. This role requires strong leadership, excellent project management skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the construction team in New South Wales, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

- Oversee and manage the construction operations of multiple projects concurrently, from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

- Collaborate with the estimating and pre-construction teams to review project proposals, budgets, and schedules, providing valuable insights and guidance.

- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring timely procurement, effective communication, and quality control.

- Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address any issues that may impact the successful delivery of projects.

- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication, regular project updates, and proactive problem-solving.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies across all construction activities.

- Develop and maintain project budgets, track costs, and manage financial aspects of projects, including change orders and variations.

- Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure constructability and coordination of design intent during the construction phase.

- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.

- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and construction methodologies, incorporating innovative solutions to improve project delivery.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Design, or a related field. Additional qualifications or certifications in construction management are advantageous.

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial fit out projects.

- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

- Proven experience in successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.

- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire others.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.

- Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.

- NSW Builder's License or relevant certifications preferred.
