The School

Willetton Senior High School (SHS) is looking to appoint a highly competent and dedicated Science Teacher – Chemistry. Willetton SHS is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, with a student population in excess of 2700, approximately 230 teaching staff and 145 support staff on campus. The school serves a diverse student population from different geographic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Willetton SHS offers selective programs, Basketball Specialist and Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) in addition to extracurricular activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award and international exchange programs. Applicants who can deliver Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Chemistry are encouraged to apply, particularly to extend student learning into authentic real-world contexts.

The successful applicant would have the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and contribute to the Learning Area. You should be student-focused, highly motivated, and innovative, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a large collaborative Learning Area team. Strong classroom management, rapport-building, differentiation, and the use of high-impact teaching strategies are highly desirable.
