We are seeking to establish a pool of Music Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

We are looking for teachers who possess rigorous subject knowledge and expertise in delivering the Music curriculum in the context of Jazz. The suitable applicants should have a deep belief that every student is capable of successful learning and exhibit highly effective teaching practices with the ability to differentiate to meet the need of different cohorts and learning abilities and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. An excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and the impending changes required from 2025-2027 as well as the capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner are also desirable qualities.
The ideal candidate will ensure the integrity of the program and support the Teacher in Charge of Music by arranging Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) teachers, after school bands and out of school performances. Displaying initiative to work well with your colleagues as part of a team to develop teaching strategies, resources and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential are essential qualities. Experience in delivering Certificate (II and above) courses and leading bands and organising incursion and excursion processes are highly desirable qualities.
The suitable applicants should have a growth mindset and be committed to the school’s Instructional Model which is based on practices that have a strong evidence base for their effectiveness. It is expected that all teachers will participate in the school’s Instructional Coaching program. Skills and knowledge in these areas will be highly desirable. The skills and flexibility to work across other Learning Areas would be highly valued. The suitable applicants will ideally be able to display how they will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices would be highly valued.
