About this role

The communications officers are key roles in the Forward Planning team in the Strategic Communications and Engagement (SCE) branch.
As a communications officer in the Forward Planning team, you will help deliver and support an annual program of communication activity across communications, campaigns, marketing, engagement and media teams within the SCE branch. This role helps ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to communications plans, projects and initiatives and is responsible for maintaining an accurate forward plan of communications activity, as well as supporting collaborative ways of working across the branch and with stakeholders.
A key focus of the role is to support SCE and its stakeholders to develop best practice communications that enable the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
The role also produces reports, dashboards and analysis of activity to improve communication integration and a culture of continuous improvement.
You’ll join a dedicated team of communications, media, creative, social and digital professionals, working in a fast turnaround, high volume environment.
This role involves collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders across the NSW Health system and other NSW Government agencies.
Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $113,574 - $125,720 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35‑hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Assist in the delivery of communication strategies, plans and campaigns to support the objectives of NSW Health.
- Develop plans, templates, content and dashboards (including researching, writing and editing) for a range of communications activities and channels.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an annual calendar and program of work to support the delivery and reporting of SCE projects for the Ministry of Health.
- Prioritise reporting activities and evaluation of communications activities.
- Support SCE and its stakeholders to develop best practice communications that enable the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
- Engage stakeholders across the SCE branch and wider system to leverage a consistent approach to delivery and evaluation of health messaging and content to ensure a whole of NSW Health approach to achieving NSW Government objectives.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.
