About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and self‑motivated professional passionate about WSUD asset management to join our team on a term contract, full‑time basis for up to 4 years.

Key responsibilities

- Conducting field inspections

- Assessing asset condition and risk

- Driving continuous improvement

You will collaborate closely with the Asset Engineer to support renewal forecasting, maintenance planning, and budget submissions.

Qualifications and experience

- Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering, or TAFE Certificate of trade or equivalent in a relevant field

- Experience in the construction and maintenance of WSUD assets

- Demonstrated experience in the establishment, handover and maintenance of WSUD assets

- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of WSUD design and specifications

- Demonstrated ability to work with key stakeholders to solve problems

- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment

- Demonstrated commitment to customer service

- Class C driver’s licence.

- Experience in the use of ESRI GIS software

- Experience in the use of mobile field applications

- Availability to work flexible working hours

- Understanding and demonstrated experience in asset collection, risk management and condition assessment

- Staff and contractor supervision experience

- Proficiency in use of and application of computers and computer packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS and mobile field applications

- WorkCover approved General Induction for Construction Work in NSW

- Experience in TechnologyOne including CiAnywhere.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

- Entry level for this position starts at $1,679.52 per week, plus an additional 10.32% per week as per Council’s flexibility agreement

- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
