**About the opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic about maintaining and rehabilitating our Aquatic ecosystems and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) assets. This a permanent, full-time position that sits within our Natural Areas team.

You will undertake a variety of tasks to ensure these assets are maintained at the highest level to protect our natural watercourses and have a positive impact on the environment. Your responsibilities will be:

- Preparation and maintenance of WSUD assets, gardens, riparian & natural areas to required standards. Including extensive knowledge of the following plant types; annuals, exotic, native, etc
- Efficient, effective and safe utilisation of all plant and equipment
- Re-vegetation is completed according to programs and as directed, using recognised conservation and horticultural management practices.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Horticulture or equivalent
- Some experience in maintenance of WSUD assets, gardens and natural areas
- Chemical Application AQF 3 or equivalent
- Current C class driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Current MR driver’s licence
- Chainsaw operation certificate of competence
- Traffic Controller Implementation accreditation
- First Aid certificate
- Bush regeneration experience.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
