Learn more about Our Vision, Purpose & Value About the Role As Executive Director, Mongolia, you will be part of the global leadership team, reporting to the Group Executive, Asia. You will lead the strategic development, operational performance, and sustainable growth of Thiess Mongolia, ensuring alignment with our Asia growth plan. Responsibilities - Lead the strategic positioning and expansion of Thiess Mongolia, in alignment with the Asia growth plan. - Provide executive leadership in governance, risk management, and compliance across operations. - Build and empower high-performing teams aligned with Thiess’s mission and values. - Drive financial performance, operational efficiency, budgeting, and commercial planning. - Champion a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. - Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, government bodies, and communities to drive performance and outcomes. - Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards. - Promote diversity, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. - Lead business development initiatives, identify new market opportunities and business partnerships. - Support cross-regional collaboration and resource mobility. Who You Are - A seasoned leader with extensive experience in mining operations and financial management. - A degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (highly desirable). - Proven success in cross-cultural environments and stakeholder engagement. - Experience working in Mongolia or the broader Asian region is highly regarded. - Experience in mobilising and managing surface and underground hard rock mining operations is highly regarded. - A strong communicator with a strategic mindset and ability to inspire teams. - Skilled in negotiation, strategic decision-making, and client relationships development.
