As Contracts Manager (Contracts Lead), you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of all major project contracts, supporting one of Australia’s largest renewable energy projects currently under construction.

This is a key commercial role reporting directly to the Project Director and providing critical support to the JV management committee. You will work closely with senior project leadership, finance, engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure best-practice contract administration and compliance.

This role will require regular travel to the Wambo Wind Farm site — at least once per month for 2–3 days at a time — to attend key commercial and project meetings.

Location: Brisbane or Sydney | Hybrid | Monthly Site Travel Required

Wambo Windfarm Project

The Wambo Wind Farm is a flagship $1.5 billion renewable energy project in Queensland’s Western Downs region – approximately 15 km northeast of Jandowae, 74 km north of Dalby and 77 km west of Kingaroy.

Developed as a 50:50 joint venture between Cubico Sustainable Investments and Stanwell Corporation Limited (Queensland’s government-owned energy generator), the project is being delivered in two stages:

- Stage 1 commenced construction in 2023

- Stage 2 commenced construction in 2024

Once fully operational, Wambo will comprise 83 wind turbines delivering over 500 MW of clean energy – enough to power 312,000+ homes annually.

- Manage upstream JV contracts and obligations, including preparation of minutes, correspondence and record-keeping
- Prepare and submit all contractual notices, claims, variations, and correspondence within required timeframes

- Provide commercial advice and assessment of variations, EOTs and delay cost claims
- Support financial administration including payment certifications and insurance management
- Support asset management in the procurement, implementation and administration of all operational contracts
- Support development and pre-construction teams in the procurement activities for future renewable energy projects

Governance & Risk

- Identify and track contractual risks, including estimating potential liquidated damages
- Support compliance with legal, regulatory, and Cubico internal policies including delegations of authority

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

- Attend and contribute to commercial and project meetings (onsite and remotely)
- Support preparation of monthly project reports and presentations
- Collaborate across the project team to deliver contractual and commercial outcomes

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

Knowledge & Expertise:

- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Economics, Law, or Business

- High level of contractual awareness and ability to interpret commercial documents

Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication, including contractual letter writing
- Advanced MS Word and Excel skills
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; collaborative, proactive and meticulous approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills
