The Opportunity
Join the Department’s People and Culture team as a WHS Program Officer, where your technical and operational skills will help drive efficient and effective support services across a range of workforce initiatives. This dynamic role offers the chance to provide high-level administrative and systems support, with a strong focus on data management, reporting, and the use of digital tools to enhance service delivery.
You’ll play a key role in supporting divisional teams and leadership by maintaining and improving database systems, streamlining operational processes, and ensuring accurate and timely information flow. Your contribution will help strengthen decision-making and operational outcomes across PIRSA, with a focus on continuous improvement and responsive service.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high level system reporting, analysis, technical and administrative support to the WHS team and PIRSA Divisions in a range of WHS system software programs, and tools which enable management and staff to meet WHS legislative obligations, manage WHS risks and continuously improve WHS performance. The WHS Program Officer supports the Department with WHS programs, and initiatives, with a customer service approach to achieve WHS outcomes.
The role requires engagement with divisional management, and key staff to effectively provide advice and assistance on the maintenance and compliance of WHS management systems and programs to ensure WHS risks are managed and Divisional WHS objectives and targets are achieved. The role contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of PIRSA’s WHS management system and associated procedures, programs and tools to ensure an effective and uniform WHS management system is developed and maintained commensurate with PIRSA’s WHS risks.

About You
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong technical capabilities, particularly in database management, reporting tools, and digital systems. You enjoy working collaboratively and are confident in providing operational support that enables teams to meet their objectives efficiently.
Your ability to manage data, troubleshoot system issues, and contribute to process improvements will be highly valued. Experience with WHS systems is beneficial but not essential—what matters most is your commitment to delivering high-quality support and your ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the department.

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- 12 month opportunity with potential to become ongoing.
- Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week.
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter/intra-state travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
Qualifications
- Essential: Nil
- Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification(s), in Data Analytics, or related studies or Certificate IV Safety or equivalent or relevant demonstrated work experience.
Remuneration
ASO4 - $76,561 min - $80,256 max per annum, plus superannuation.
